Carburetors!

So, after enjoying a breakfast of champions I spent the rest of the morning touching up my CB550, new battery, new foam air filters and then it came time to rebuild the carbs that would eventually hold these filters. Things were looking good, we picked up some carbs and once I started the tear down, shit went down hill. Two of the bowls were f'd! I cleaned them out and started pulling float pins, can you guess what happened? I broke a fucking float tower. I would go back to the guy who sold them to me but he's a well rounded (real) 1% so, no chance of a refund. Fuck

1970 Honda CL350

There's a new project on the horizon here at Seven Seven Motos and thankfully it's my own private project. We wont be able to touch this one for a while, as we're busy finishing some of the current projects. This CL350 will be getting the full custom treatment, so there's plenty of planning before we even begin the tear down.

Until then check out this killer CL350

1973 CB500 update

There hasn't been much time to write, the Grand National Roadster Show is right around the corner and everybody needs something by then. You may ask yourself why the mad rush for a "roadster" show, the reality is it there's more than just hot rods and customs there. Pretty much every type of early iron is present. Along with the 4 wheeled machines is the ever growing presence of the 2 wheeled machines. For this reason, we're thrashing to get the bikes ready. We don't want to follow the way we want to pave the way. More updates to come, until then enjoy tonight's pix.

1973 Honda CB500

(initial before & after)

I know we promised you an update on Tony's Honda CB500 but we had a change of plans. I got a call from Tony on Wednesday telling me about a 73 CB500 that was up for grabs. There was one photo on the listing, so there wasn't much to go on except for the brief description the seller gave us. We went to check the bike out Christmas Eve, as usual we really didn't know what to expect. When we finally arrived at the sellers house, he was about to roll the bike back into his garage. Apparently he didn't think we were going to show up, guess we shouldn't have stopped for breakfast. Straight away you could tell the bike was dirty but complete, even the seat had minimal damage. After a little wheeling and dealing the bike was ours. Unfortunately, we didn't bother to bring a trailer so it was back to the garage to pick one up. About an hour later we loaded up this diamond in the rough and headed home. Since it was Christmas Eve we decided to wait until Saturday to go through it. First we hit the cosmetics, after that it was time for a little mechanical check. Long story short, it took about two hours and this little son of bitch fired right up!! It smoked a little at first but once the seals settled in the smoke was gone. It's not perfect (yet), our plan is to go through it and put it up for grabs at the Grand National Roadster Show.
